Burn It Out
LOWREZJAM ENTRY • 64x64 RESOLUTION
Seal the airlocks. Burn the biomass. Evacuate your squad.
ABOUT THE GAME
You are the commander of a Cleanup Crew dispatched to purge a compromised research station. An aggressive biomass is rapidly overtaking every sector. Navigate through quarantined rooms, rescue survivors, and secure an escape route before the infestation consumes everything.
|
Per-Pixel Simulation
The organism expands in real time. Deploy flame weapons to clear infested tiles and halt growth via chain burns.
|
Tactical Squad Units
Each crew member provides a unique ability. Losing a specialist permanently locks their utility.
|
Airlock Containment
Lock blast doors to isolate active clusters while systematically sterilizing clean sectors.
|
CONTROLS AND ABILITIES
| WASD / ARROWS | Move squad leader (remaining crew follows automatically) |
| SPACE / LMB | Flamethrower (Leader): High-intensity flame stream. Slows movement while firing. |
| Q | Frag Grenade: Instantly clears dense clusters and ignites residue. |
| R | Bio-Scanner: Scans adjacent sectors to reveal threat levels on the minimap. |
| E | Airlock Hacker: Remotely locks/unlocks blast doors to control biomass spread. |
SURVIVAL DIRECTIVES
- Lethal Core Density: Direct contact between the leader and max-level growth causes an instant defeat.
- Proximity Damage: Infestation near squad members drains their health over time.
- Sector Quarantine: Sterilized rooms remain safe as long as connecting doorways stay sealed.

great stuff! i got stuck in an airlock i'd accidentally closed while walking into a room, and accumulating opens didn't help :(
Interesting... I somehow didn’t think about this way of getting a softlock. Fortunately, I’ll have time to think about the solution until the end of the jam.
the counter still filled up, and decremented both times i tried pressing e, but the doors didn't budge.
